** There is a photo gallery at the bottom of this post. For those who have not seen The Lion King show and don’t want spoilers of the costumes and sets please don’t scroll all the way down. I have not taken these pictures as the theatre does not allow it, I assume these are promotional pictures released for marketing purposes. **

For my girlfriends birthday I booked a trip to London as you might have guessed from some of my recent posts. One of the things I booked was the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre, Leanne had never seen it so I thought this would be a nice treat. What more is there to say, other than wow. The show is just amazing, the costumes, songs and acting in the play is just outstanding. It was Leanne’s first ever West End production. Now I feel bad that I’ve taken her to see this first, as no show will ever live up to the feeling you get seeing this for the first time. Both of us got goosebumps and I’ve seen it already, some people sometimes get emotional throughout the production so take tissues also.

People who have seen the show already will appreciate this, I managed to get stall isle tickets, while being slightly more expensive they were most definitely worth it. I won’t spoil why these are quite so special but if you can I would definitely recommend trying to get these seats. Booking during the week has a slight discount but obviously the theatre still gets fully booked during these days so book early to avoid disappointment. There are however a few tickets available on the day from the ticket office but again these go very quickly. The snacks in the theatre are expensive but that’s the same everywhere. You can buy 2 different survivor guides one being the show program with the actors and music info, the other is more about the history of the show and behind the scenes. They sometimes have deals on with the guides, I got a guide and a bag of sweets for £10 if I remember correctly.

The Lyceum theatre is fairly easy to find, and with a couple underground stations close it’s easy to get to. Because of the prime location of the theatre, there are plenty of eating establishments close by that you can visit before or after the show. Use the map below to see what’s around:

I cannot recommend this show enough, everyone will enjoy it. It’s perfect for adults and children alike. Please see the link below for more information and where to buy the tickets, as there are several places you can actually buy them from.
